The active sway bar is a motor driven unit that engages and disengages the stabilizer bar.
The ASBS switch is located in the right rear portion of the Electronic Shift Module (ESM).
OPERATION
The ASBS module will disengage the active sway bar under the following conditions:
- Ignition switch state is ON
- Transfer case is in 4LO or 4HI
- A valid ASBS switch request to UNLOCK has been received from the BCM
- No other valid ASBS switch request is made
- Vehicle speed is less than 28.9 km/h (18 mph)
NOTE:
The normal state of the active sway bar is LOCKED unless it has been UNLOCKED by request from the ASBS switch to the BCM and the disengaging conditions exist.
