Transmission Fill After Service: Notes
There is a risk of accident from vehicle moving when the engine is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. There is a risk of injury from contusions and burns if you insert your hands into the engine when it is running. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. Wear properly fitted work clothes.
A unique transmission fluid has been developed for this transmission. This fluid is NOT compatible with ATF+4 or any other current FCA US LLC transmission fluid. For specifics about this unique fluid see FLUIDS, LUBRICANTS AND GENUINE PARTS.
If the repair performed was for a minor transmission oil leak , perform the Fluid Level Check procedure. Refer to TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL CHECK .
If the repair performed required removal of the valve body cover :
- Add 2.8 L (2.95 qts) of the appropriate transmission oil through the transmission oil fill plug.
- Perform the Fluid Level Check procedure. Refer to TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL CHECK .
If the repair performed involved draining the fluid through the drain plug , perform the fill operation in the transmission oil drain and fill procedure. Refer to TRANSMISSION OIL DRAIN AND FILL .
