OCM System Verification Test (OCM Relearn Procedure)

OCM SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST (EMPTY SEAT RELEARN) 

1. Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.
2. Make sure the passenger seat is empty and in the upright position. Make sure the temperature of the seat is lower than 90 degrees F and higher than 35 degrees F.
3. Active B0061-17, B0061-16, B0061-13, B0061-2A, B1B9D-00, B2212-00 DTCs must be repaired before performing Empty Seat Value Relearn procedure.
   WARNING:

   Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

   WARNING:

   Disconnect the 12-volt battery wait two minutes before proceeding, remove the ORC fuses, connect the 12-volt battery, wait two minutes before proceeding. Cycle the ignition to the On position, then reconnect the ORC fuses. Wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

   NOTE:

   Failure to follow the test instructions or aborting the test causes faults to set when performing the Scan tool Occupant Classification Module System Verification Test. To prevent faults due to process errors: verify that all tests steps that led you here were performed as directed, verify that the ignition is in run position. Only press scan tool buttons when directed to do so and perform the scan tool Occupant Classification Module System Verification Test to completion.

4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool in OCM, select the Miscellaneous Functions tab on the scan tool, select Occupant Classification Module System Verification Test. Run the test by following the instructions displayed on the scan tool. When the test completes, wait two minutes and then proceed as follows.
6. With the scan tool, read active DTCs.

   Does the scan tool display active or stored B1BA8-00-OCM SYSTEM OUT OF CALIBRATION/NOT CALIBRATED active DTC?

   Yes 

   • Replace the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) in accordance with Service Information. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION (OCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
   • Perform the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) Verification Test. Refer to: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE (OCM) VERIFICATION TEST  .

   No 

   • OCM re-zero procedure complete. Perform the Standard Procedure OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE (OCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION MODULE (OCM) VERIFICATION TEST  .
