Powertrain Control Module (Pcm)

POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)

Refer to COMPONENT INDEX .

The PCM commands the fuel pump PWM signal to be activated through a dedicated relay located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) which in turn sends a voltage supply to the FPCM. The PCM energizes the fuel pump relay using a Low Side Driver (LSD) control circuit. The relay provides a wake up signal to the FPCM when energized. The PCM monitors the fuel system pressure and performance using the fuel pressure sensor feedback. It sends commands to the FPCM through the PWM command circuit and receives feedback, including system diagnostics from the FPCM on the PWM Feedback circuit. Any faults in the FPCM or fuel pump circuitry are communicated to the PCM from the FPCM. The PCM receives the pressure information from the fuel rail pressure sensor and sends a PWM signal on a dedicated signal circuit to the fuel pump control Module.
