Front Coil Spring: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the shock absorber. Refer to SHOCK ABSORBER, SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

   1 - Strut Rod Nut	6 - Lower Isolator
   2 - Spacer	7 - Shock Absorber
   3 - Dust Boot	8 - Dust Boot
   4 - Jounce Bumper	9 - Upper Strut Mount
   5 - Coil Spring

3. Compress the coil spring in a suitable spring compressor.
4. Have a helper support the shock absorber from below, then hold the strut rod with a suitable socket and use (special tool #9362, Wrench, Strut Nut) to remove the strut rod nut.
5. Remove the shock absorber with the lower isolator, and the jounce bumper.
6. Remove the upper strut mount, the upper spacer, the shield, and the spring isolator.
7. Release the spring compressor and remove the coil spring from the spring compressor.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle.
