Removal And Installation: FLEXPLATE: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the transmission. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
2. Using a crisscross pattern, remove and DISCARD  the flexplate bolts.
   CAUTION:

   Do not use an impact socket or a thick walled socket when removing or installing the flexplate retaining bolts, damage to the crankshaft, internal engine or the transmission may occur.

3. Remove the flexplate.

INSTALLATION 

During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

• Position the flexplate onto the crankshaft and install NEW  flexplate bolts hand tight.
• Using a crisscross pattern, tighten the flexplate retaining bolts to the proper torque specifications.
