Driver Door Module And Passenger Door Module (DDM/PDM)

DRIVER DOOR MODULE AND PASSENGER DOOR MODULE (DDM/PDM)

Refer to COMPONENT INDEX .

There are two door control module are used on this vehicle, one for each front door. They are the DDM and the PDM.

The DDM provides power to the door switch bank module and both the DDM/PDM to provide support for window lift motor position sensors. The DDM/PDM reports the window position status as a percentage of full open or down using a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus signal. Full closed (up) hard stop position is reported as 0% while full open (down) hard stop position is reported as 100%.

The DDM receives LIN inputs from the door switch module to activate and control the window lift motors based on the switch input captures in the LIN bus message request. The DDM also provides a CAN-Interior High Speed (CAN-IHS) message to the PDM when passenger side window actuations are requested by the door switch module.

The DDM/PDM provides Anti-Pinch functionality. Both modules have Anti-Pinch algorithms that sense obstacles in a predetermined Anti-Pinch zone. This function is active during manual and express window operation. If a pinch force is detected the exceeds a calibrated level, the DDM/PDM will command the appropriate window motor to auto reverse.
