Check Fuel Temperature Sensor
- Ignition "OFF".
- Disconnect fuel temperature sensor connector.
- Measure resistance between terminal "1" and "4" of fuel temperature sensor connector.
- Specification:
- At 0 °C (32 °F), Resistance 4 ~ 7 kΩ
- At 20 °C (68 °F), Resistance 2 ~ 3 kΩ
- At 40 °C (104 °F), Resistance 0.9 ~ 1.3 kΩ
- At 80 °C (176 °F), Resistance 0.2 ~ 0.4 kΩ
- Is the resistance within specifications?
YES
- Substitute with a known-good PCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Check fuel temp. sensor for contamination, deterioration, or damage. Substitute with a known-good fuel temp. sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace fuel temp. sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
