Spark Plug Cable: Inspection

  1. While the engine is idling, disconnect each spark plug cable one at a time to check whether the engine's running performance changes or not.
    WARNING: A suitable pair of industrial rubber gloves should be worn when disconnecting the cables. Do not use household cleaning gloves.
  2. If the engine performance does not change, check the resistance of the spark plug cable, and check the spark plug itself.
  3. Check the cap and outer shell for cracks.
  4. Measure the resistance
    NOTE: Resistance should not be higher than 10,000Ω-per foot of cable. If resistance is higher, replace the cable
