Monitor Scantool Data

CAUTION: If any codes relating to TPS or MAFS are stored, do ALL REPAIRS associated with those codes before proceeding with further troubleshooting
  1. Start engine and monitor the "ECT SENSOR" parameter on scantool.
  2. Check that ECT rises steadly to approx. above 90°C (194°F) and ECT stabilizes when the thermostat opens
  3. Is ECTS parameter near the specified value?

    YES

    1. Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or the ECM's connector, which was repaired but ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure

    1. Go to "W/HARNESS INSPECTION " procedure
