Component Inspection
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Fuel Level Sensor connector.
- Measure resistance between terminal "1" and "3" of the Fuel Level Sensor connector during lifting fuel float up and down (To Component Side).FLS SPECIFICATIONS CHART
FLS Normal Parameter Float position Full gauge 3/4 1/2 1/4 Empty gauge Resistance 8Ω 30Ω 54.5Ω 98Ω 200Ω Fuel volume 71.3l 52.5l 37.5l 22.5l 5.6l - Does the measured resistance of FLS change during lifting up and down the fuel level float?
YES
- Substitute with a known - good ECM and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace ECM and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known - good Fuel Level Sensor and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace Fuel Level Sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- Substitute with a known - good ECM and check for proper operation.
