Front Impact Sensor (FIS): Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Kia Sedona and 2006 Kia Sedona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The front impact sensors (FIS) are installed in the side member.
They are remote sensors that detect acceleration due to a collision at their mounting locations. The primary purpose of the Front Impact Sensor (FIS) is to provide an indication of a collision. The Front Impact Sensor (FIS) sends acceleration data to the SRSCM.
