Automatic Transaxle: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Lifting up the transaxle slowly with a jack, tighten the under mounting bolts.
TORQUE
1. 80~100 Nm (8~10 kgf.m, 57.9~72.3 lb-ft)
2. 40~47 Nm (4.0~4.7 kgf.m, 29.0~34.1 lb-ft)

Install the drive plate bolts (A).
TORQUE :

46~53 Nm (4.6~5.3 kgf.m, 33.3~38.3 lb-ft)

NOTE: Install the bolts (A-6ea) rotating the crankshaft clockwise.

Install the starter motor mounting bolt and nut. (refer to STARTING SYSTEM (G6EA - GSL 2.7) )

Install the front roll support (A) from the transaxle.

Install the left side cover (A).

Install drive shaft (A, B) from transaxle. (refer to DRIVESHAFT AND AXLE ).

Install the inner shaft bracket bolts (A), (refer to DRIVESHAFT AND AXLE )
TORQUE :

50~65 Nm (5.0~6.5 kgf.m, 36.2~47.0 lb-ft)

Install the front muffler assembly (A), (refer to INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM )
TORQUE :

40~60 Nm (4~6 kgf.m, 28.9~43.4 lb-ft)

Supporting the sub frame with a jack and the special tool (09624-38000), install the mounting bolts, (refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM (EXCEPT TPMS) )

Install the muffler hanger rubber (A).

Install the front (B) rear (A) roll stopper mounting bolts.
TORQUE

[A] : 50~65 Nm (5.0~6.5 kgf.m, 36.2~47.0 lb-ft)

[B] : 50~65 Nm (5.0~6.5 kgf.m, 36.2~47.0 lb-ft)

Install the power steering column joint bolt (A), (refer to STEERING SYSTEM )
Install the stabilizer link mounting nut. (refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM (EXCEPT TPMS) )
Install the lower arm ball joint assembly mounting bolts and tie rod end ball joint, (refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM (EXCEPT TPMS) )
Connect the power steering return hose (A) by tightening the clamp (B).

Install the front wheels and Lifting up the vehicle, remove the under cover (A).

Connect the power steering pressure bolt (A), (refer to STEERING SYSTEM )
TORQUE :

55~65 Nm (5.5~6.5 kgf.m, 36~47 lb-ft)

Remove the special tool (09200-38001).

Install the transaxle insulator mounting bolt (A).
TORQUE :

60~80 Nm (6.0~8.0 kgf.m, 43.4~57.9 lb-ft)

Install the transaxle upper mounting bolts (A).
TORQUE

65~85 Nm (6.5~8.5 kgf.m, 47.0~61.5 lb-ft)

Install the transaxle oil cooler hoses (A) releasing the clamps.

Install the control cable bracket (A).

Install the control cable assembly (C) by installing the nut (A) and clip (B).

Install the vehicle speed sensor connector (B) and output speed sensor connector (A).

Install the inhibitor switch connector (A), solenoid valve connector (B) and the input shaft speed sensor connector (C).

Install the ground earth wire (A).

Refill the automatic transaxle fluid, (refer to 'SERVICE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE ')
Refill the power steering fluid and bleed the air. (refer to STEERING SYSTEM )
