DTC P0717 Input Speed Sensor Circuit-No Signal: DTC Detecting Condition

DTC DETECTING CONDITION CHART

Item Detecting Condition & Fail Safe Possible cause
DTC Strategy 
  • Check voltage range
  • Signal circuit is open or short
  • Sensor power circuit is open
  • Sensor ground circuit is open
  • Faulty INPUT SPEED SENSOR
  • Faulty PCM
Enable Conditions 
  • Vehicle speed is over 19 Mile/h (30 Km/h) in D,2, L (A/T range switch)
  • Battery voltage > 9V
  • Output speed sensor > 1000 RPM
  • Engine speed (Only 1st gear) > 3000 RPM
Threshold Value 
  • No signal
Diagnostic Time 
  • More than 1sec
Fail Safe 
  • Locked into 3rd or 2nd gear
  • Manual shifting is possible (2nd --> 3rd, 3rd --> 2nd)
