Repair procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the boot (A) from the console upper cover.

  2. Remove the center console assembly. (For Coupe, refer to CONSOLE . For Sedan, refer to CONSOLE )
  3. Disconnect the select cable snap pin (A) and then disconnect the shift cable (C) after pressing cable clip (B).

  4. Remove the clip (A) from the shift cable.

  5. Remove the shift lever assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8~13.7Nm (0.9~1.4kgf.m, 6.5~10.1lb-ft)

  6. Remove the retainer (A) and the nuts (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    11.8~14.7Nm (1.2~1.5kgf.m, 8.7~10.8lb-ft)

    NOTE: In case, remove the crash pad and cowl cross bar. (For Coupe, refer to CRASH PAD and COWL CROSS BAR . For Sedan, refer to CRASH PAD and COWL CROSS BAR .)

  7. Remove the cable assembly from the transaxle. (refer to MANUAL TRANSAXLE SYSTEM- M5CF3 )
  8. Remove the select and shift cable assemblies
