Power Circuit of Fuel Pressure Sensor Inspection
- Voltage check
- IG "OFF"
- Disconnect Fuel Pressure Sensor harness connector.
- IG "ON"
- Measure the voltage between power terminal of fuel pressure sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Above. 4.5V
- Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Go to next procedure.
- Short to ground check
- IG "OFF"
- Disconnect FPCM and Fuel Pressure Sensor harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between power terminal of fuel pressure sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Approx. below 1Ω
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Substitute with a known - good FPCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace FPCM and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Repair short to GND in power circuit of fuel pressure sensor. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
