Component Inspection

■ Visual Check 

1. IG "OFF" and disconnect HO2S(S1) connector.
2. Check that HO2S(S1) is contaminated or damaged by foreign materials.

■ Check HO2S(S1) performance 

1. Connect GDS to DLC (Data Link Cable).
2. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
3. Check the "Current Data" about related DTC with GDS.

   A: Engine Idle after Warm Up

   B: Approx. 2000rpm

   A: To compare the performance of the catalyst oxygen sensor 1 and 2 can be determined.

■ Confirm Part Inspection 

1. Does the HO2S(S1) operate properly? (Check variation)

   YES 

   • Go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

   NO 

   • Substitute with a known-good HO2S(S1) and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace HO2S(S1) and then go to "Verification Of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
