PTM Operating Flow (Trunk Open)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Kia K900. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Opening can be triggered by receiving opening signal from one of the following:
- Trunk lid outside handle switch
- Driver side crash pad switch (crash pad switch)
- SMK (remote key, smart key)
- On receiving opening signal, the power latch will move from locked to unlocked status.
- PTM controls the operating units including the motor to rotate/operate in the direction of opening.
- The rotating speed of motor can be controlled by the hall sensor built into the trunk lid motor.
- It increases motor speed if It is slower than set value and vice versa.
- if the pulse interval of the hall sensor is long, the operation will be stopped after determining that there is jamming or obstacle in the operating range.
