Repair Procedures: Removal

CAUTION: Put on gloves to protect your hands.
NOTE: Use seat covers to avoid damaging any surfaces.
  1. Remove the Front Pillar Trim.

    (Refer to Interior Trim - "FRONT PILLAR TRIM ")

  2. Remove the Cowl Top Cover.

    (Refer to " COWL TOP COVER ")

  3. Remove the Inside Rear View Mirror Assembly.

    (Refer to Mirror - "INSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR ")

  4. Remove the Rain Sensor.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "INSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR ")

  5. Remove the Auto Defogging Sensor.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning - "AUTO DEFOGGING SENSOR (DATC ONLY) ")

  6. Disconnect the Windshield Glass Defogger connector.
  7. Cut out the adhesive using a cutter (A).

    Information 

    Please use a cutter with a blade length between 8-12 inches.

  8. Cut off the sealant on the edge (B) while pulling the piano wire (A) to the left and right.

  9. If the piano wire is visible inside the chassis, tuck in the piano wire (A) line.

  10. Cut off the sealant on (A-A), (B-B), and (C-C) while pulling the piano wire (A) to the left and right.
    CAUTION:
    • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
    • Be careful not to burn your hands as friction heat may be generated while working on the wires.
    • Be careful not to disconnect the piano wire.

  11. Remove the windshield glass (B) carefully using the glass holder (A).
