Repair Procedures: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Kia K900. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
  • Put on gloves before removing/installing the drive unit.
  • Do not carry or install push rod, controller and wire harnesses by holding them with bare hands.
  • When removing the push rod, be careful as the trunk may close.
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the LHS trunk trim after opening the trunk.

    (Proceed to Body - "TRUNK TRIM ")

  3. Separate the power trunk module push rod pin (A) and then remove the power trunk module connecting rod (B).

  4. Remove the power trunk module & drive unit (A) after removing the drive unit mounting bolts, nuts and connector.
