Component Inspection

■ Perform HO2S Upstream (S1) Heater Actuation Test 

1. Connect KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Engine "Running".
3. Perform "Actuation Test" for HO2S upstream (S1) Heater.

■ Inspect HO2S Upstream (S1) Heater 

1. Ignition "OFF".
2. Disconnect HO2S upstream (S1) connector.
3. Measure resistance between Pin No. 2 (Power) terminal and Pin No. 5 (Control) terminal of the HO2S upstream (S1) Heater (component side).

   Specification:  Approx. 3.2Ω ± 0.8Ω at 20°C (68°F)

■ Confirm Part Inspection 

1. Does the HO2S upstream (S1) Heater operate properly? (Check variation)

   YES 

   • Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

   NO 

   • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
   • If problem still occurs, replace HO2S upstream (S1) and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
