DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Heater performance check.
  1. Poor connection
  2. Open or Short to ground in power circuit
  3. Damaged or corroded terminals
  4. HO2S upstream (S1)
Case 1 Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage between 10.5 - 16V
  • Sensor heating time greater than 45 seconds.
Threshold Value
  • Ceramic temperature less than 720°C (1328°F).
Diagnostic Time
  • 3 seconds.
Case 2 Enable Conditions
  • Exhaust temperature greater than 450°C (842°F).
  • Power of Sensor heating greater than 90 %.
  • Sensor heating time greater than 50 seconds.
  • No Fuel Cut greater than 50 seconds.
Threshold Value
  • Ceramic temperature less than 720°C (1328°F).
Diagnostic Time
  • 60 seconds.
Case 3 Enable Conditions
  • Exhaust temperature greater than 450°C (842°F).
  • Sensor heating time greater than 50 seconds.
  • No Fuel Cut greater than 50 seconds.
Threshold Value
  • Ceramic temperature less than 640°C (1184°F).
Diagnostic Time
  • 10 seconds.
MIL ON Condition
  • 2 driving cycles.
