DTC P0A1B: Drive Motor 'A' Control Module: General Description
The inverter (EPCU) is a device for driving the drive motor of electric vehicle, and it converts DC power of high-voltage battery into AC power for driving the motor to control the induction motor.
In other words, the inverter converts DC power (+,-) supplied from the high-voltage battery into 3-phase AC power (U, V, W) and controls 3-phase AC power with the input signal from the control board to run the drive motor.
When accelerating, energy is supplied from the high-voltage battery to the drive motor, and when decelerating, the energy generated from the drive motor is recharged to the high-voltage battery to increase the driving distance.
