| DTC Strategy |
- Monitoring by comparing engine oil temperature, coolant temperature, and intake air temperature
|
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor (EOTS)
|
| Case 1 |
Enable Conditions |
- Battery voltage higher than 6V and lower than 16V. Difference of oil temperature between peak and nadir higher than 30 (86°F) to 100°C (212°F)
- Difference of oil temperature between peak and nadir higher than 30 (86°F) to 100°C (212°F)
- Coolant temperature or coolant temperature (value of model) higher than 85°C (185°F)
- Coolant temperature lower than 53.25°C (127.85°F) at engine "ON"
|
| Threshold Value |
- Difference of oil temperature between peak and nadir lower than 2°C (35.6°F) to 35°C (95°F)
- Sensor signal is fixed
|
| Diagnostic Time |
- 13minutes (depending on the temperature at engine "ON")
|
| Case 2 |
Enable Conditions |
- Battery voltage higher than 6V and lower than 16V
- Coolant temperature lower than 40°C (104°F) at engine "ON"
- Oil temperature (value of model) higher than 70°C (158°F)
|
| Threshold Value |
- Oil temperature lower than 20°C (68°F).
- The sensor signal is very low
|
| Diagnostic Time |
|
| Case 3 |
Enable Conditions |
- Battery voltage higher than 6V and lower than 16V
- Coolant temperature lower than 40°C (104°F) at engine "ON"
|
| Threshold Value |
- Oil temperature higher than 100°C (212°F)
- The sensor signal is very high
|
| Diagnostic Time |
|
| Case 4 |
Enable Conditions |
- Battery voltage higher than 11V and lower than 16V
- Above 8hours after engine "OFF"
- Decrease in the coolant temperature is below 2 °C (35.6 °F) after engine "ON"
|
| Threshold Value |
- Variation between engine oil temperature and the other temperature sensor (ECT, AAT, IAT) is above 20°C (68°F)
- Variation between the other temperature sensors (ECT, AAT, IAT) is below 20 °C (68 °F)
