Check the Alternator

Ignition "OFF"
Connect VMI to KDS/GDS and select "Oscilloscope".
Ignition "ON". & engine "ON".
Measure voltage between Pin No. 1 (COM) terminal of alternator harness connector and chassis ground.

Does the COM signal of alternator operate properly? (Check variation)
YES
- Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
- If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the alternator and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
