Repair Procedures: Replacement

Information 

Work in teams of two when removing and installing the Liftgate.

  1. Remove the Liftgate trim (A).

    (Refer to Liftgate - "LIFTGATE TRIM ")

  2. Remove the rear spoiler.

    (Refer to Body Side Molding - "REAR SPOILER ")

  3. Disconnect the washer nozzle hose (A) and high mounted stop lamp connector (B).

  4. Using a screwdriver, lift the socket clips (A) up slightly on both ends of the Liftgate lifter (B).

  5. Disconnect the connectors and Liftgate wiring harness (A).
  6. Remove the Liftgate assembly (B) after loosening the mounting bolts.

    Tightening Torque: 

    21.6 - 26.5 N.m (2.2 - 2.7 kgf.m, 15.9 - 19.5 lb.ft)

  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Information 

    • Make sure that the Liftgate locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.
    • Adjust the Liftgate alignment.
    • Make sure the connectors are connected in properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips.
