SERVICE INFORMATION
This Pitstop provides information and the recommended procedure relating to possible Android Auto™ connectivity concerns when using an Android™ device with software version 8.0.0 or higher (8.0.0.0, etc.) on all 2017-2019MY vehicles with Android Auto.

Some customer concerns may include:
- Android Auto won't start
- Android Auto stopped working and/or crashes randomly
- Head unit displays "Phone not responding"
- Cannot select Android Auto on UVO system
The concerns may include but are not limited to the following devices:
- Samsung Galaxy: S8, S8+, S9, S9+
- Nexus: 5X, 6P
- Google Pixel: 1, XL, 2, 2 XL
NOTE:
Google continues to release bug fixes in android versions. The latest available version as of May 15, 2018 is version 8.1.0. Click here
for details of the latest available version on the Android support website. However, please note the availability of the latest software version for your device may still depend on the model and carrier.
The following recommendations may help improve some of the concerns listed on above.
- Ensure Android Auto app is installed and up-to-date
- Ensure the phone's latest released software version is installed (no beta versions)
- Use a manufacturer certified USB cable
- Disconnect then reconnect the manufacturer certified USB cable
- Ensure Android Auto is enabled on head unit
- Push Setup (hard key) → navigate to and select Connectivity or Phone Projection → select Android Auto → check box to enable.
- Reboot customer's phone (turn off and on)
- Ensure phone is in data transfer mode vs charging mode (may be default) (refer to PS452 for details)
- Delete Android Auto app and reinstall
- Ensure permissions are allowed:
- Select Settings → Android Auto → Permissions → enable all.
- Un-pair Android Auto and perform re-pairing in Android Auto app
