DTC P0401-00: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected: General Description
The Electric Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) control valve is installed between the EGR cooler and the exhaust manifold and is a solenoid valve. This valve controls exhaust gas recirculation amount controlled by the PCM's duty control signal depending on engine load and the need of intake air. The EGR system is used to add the exhaust gas to intake air in order to reduce an excess of air and the temperature in the combustion chamber. The PCM monitors the EGR actuator duty amount; if the PCM detects that the duty amount of the EGR actuator control valve along with the engine speed or amount of EGR exceeds the minimum set point, the PCM sets DTC P040100. (In this case, check that for EGR actuator sticking and/or air leakage from intake)
