Repair Procedures: Installation
- Set the front tires straight-ahead before assembling the steering wheel.NOTE: If the steering wheel and the front tires are not set straight ahead together, the number of circulation of steering wheel may be affected or the cable inside the clock spring may be damaged.
- Check for neutral state of clock spring.
Information
Factory setting for the clock spring is neutral.
- Set the clock spring in neutral before installing it to a steering wheel.NOTE:
- If the clock spring is not set neutral, it may damage the cable inside the clock spring.
- Damage to the clock spring may cause electric malfunctions in airbag warning lamp, horn, handsfree, auto cruise, heated wire and heated steering, and noise from turning the steering wheel.
- Push the auto-lock button placed at the 6 o'clock position and turn it clockwise until it stops.
- Push the auto-lock button placed at the 6 o'clock position and turn approximately 3.2 rotations counter-clockwise to align with the neutral mark (A).
- If white cable is visible through the 10 o'clock neutral check window, then the spring is set to neutral.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Check if the steering wheel remote control, airbag system and horn are normally operating after turning the handle all the way left and right after installing air bag module is done.
