Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Separate the engine room junction block.
    1. Disconnect the front control connector (A).
    2. Disconnect the starter motor ground cable (B).

      Tightening torque: 

      7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

    3. Disconnect the engine wiring cable (C).

      Tightening torque: 

      7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

    4. Disconnect the alternator ground cable (D).

      Tightening torque: 

      7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

    5. Separate the engine room junction block (A) by loosening the bolt and nuts.

      Tightening torque: 

      7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  3. Disconnect the ESC control module connector (A).

  4. Disconnect the brake pipes by loosening the flare nuts (A, B).

    Tightening torque 

    Nuts (A): 18.6 - 22.6 N.m (1.9 - 2.3 kgf.m, 13.7 - 16.6 lb.ft)

    Nuts (B): 13.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.4 - 1.7 kgf.m, 10.1 - 12.3 lb.ft)

  5. Remove the ESC control module (HECU) and bracket (C) by loosening the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    19.6 - 29.4 N.m (2.0 - 3.0 kgf.m, 14.4 - 21.6 lb.ft)

  6. Remove the bracket from the ESC control module (HECU) by loosening the bolts.
