Repair Procedures: Removal

- Disconnect the (-) battery terminal.
- Loosen the front strut upper mounting nuts (A).
Tightening torque:
53.9 - 68.6 N.m (5.5 - 7.0 kgf.m, 39.7 - 50.6 lb.ft)
- Remove the front wheel and tire.
(Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")
- Remove the brake hose bracket (A) after loosening the bolt.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)
- Remove the front wheel speed sensor bracket (A) after loosening the bolt.
Tightening torque:
6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb.ft)
- Disconnect the stabilizer bar link (B) from the front strut assembly after loosening the nut.
Tightening torque:
98.0 - 117.6 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.7 lb.ft)
NOTE:- When loosening the nut, hold the stabilizer link stud (B) using a hex socket or wrench.
- Be careful not to damage the stabilizer link boots.
- There is a high possibility of damaging the dust cover when detaching using a wrench.
- Remove the front strut assembly after loosening the front strut mounting bolts and nuts.
Tightening torque:
156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.1 lb.ft)
