Repair Procedures: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Kia Stinger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Do not switch "ON" the ignition or connect the battery terminal while replacing the front impact sensor.
  1. Install the new front impact sensor.
  2. Tighten the front impact sensor mounting bolt.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.7 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m. 5.7 - 8.6 lb.ft)

  3. Connect the front impact sensor.
  4. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  5. After installing the Front Impact Sensor, confirm proper system operation:
    • Switch "ON" the ignition. The SRS indicator light should turn on for about six seconds and then off.
