Ignition System Inspection

Ignition Coil Inspection

Refer to appropriate service information and visually and/or physically inspect for the following conditions:
- Damage, cracks, carbon and flashover.
- Poor connection or damaged harness.

Good

Go to "Spark Plug Inspection" procedure.

No Good

Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.

Spark Plug Inspection
1. Refer to appropriate service information and visually and/or physically inspect following conditions:
  - Damaged insulation, worn electrodes, contaminated with oil or fuel, loose terminals and cracks.
2. Measure the electrode gap.
  Specification: Approx. 0.8 to 0.9 mm (0.0354 - 0.0433 in.)
3. Measure the insulation resistance with an multimeter.
  Specification: Approx. 10MΩ or more
4. Has any problems been found?
  Good
  - Go to "FUEL SYSTEM INSPECTION " procedure.
  No Good
  - Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
