DTC P1676-00: Smartra Message Error: General Description

The Engine Control Module (ECM)/Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Smart Key Module (SMK) communicate when the engine is started to confirm that the proper key/fob is in the vehicle. The SMK and ECM/PCM compare the PIN before the a signal is sent to allow the engine to start. If the PINs do not match, engine start is unavailable.
In case of SMK immobilizer function is locked, the SMK does not carry out a start signal and the ECM/PCM enters in to locked state, which causes deactivation of the engine impossible.
In case of SMK immobilizer function state is released, the SMK will carry out start signal along with SMK learnt mode and PIN code.
