Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION: Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

Information 

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the front seat assembly.

    (Refer to Front Seat - "FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY ")

  3. Remove the crash pad lower panel.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "CRASH PAD LOWER PANEL ")

  4. Remove the cluster fascia panel.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "CLUSTER FASCIA PANEL ")

  5. Remove the steering column shroud lower panel.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "STEERING COLUMN SHROUD PANEL ")

  6. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")

  7. Remove the instrument cluster.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ")

  8. Remove the audio and AVN head unit.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "AUDIO UNIT ")

  9. Remove the front pillar trim.

    (Refer to Interior Trim - "FRONT PILLAR TRIM ")

  10. Loosen the mounting screws remove the crash pad side switch (A).

  11. Disconnect the crash pad side switch connector (A).

  12. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the center speaker grill (A).

  13. Loosen the mounting screws remove the center speaker (A).

  14. Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove the center speaker (B).

  15. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the security lamp (A).

  16. Disconnect the connector (A) and then remove the security lamp (B).

  17. Disconnect the passenger's airbag connectors (A).

  18. Loosen the mounting bolts and nuts and remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

  19. Loosen the mounting screws remove the heater & air vent duct connector (A).

  20. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the passenger's airbag (A).

  21. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips (or pin - type retainers).
