System Inspection
Inspect for air leakage
- Inspect the gasket for contamination or improper installation
- Damage or improper installation of throttle body
- Damage or improper installation of intake manifold and gasket which is installed in surge tank
- Contamination or sticking of intake manifold
- Contamination between surge tank and PCSV or stuck open
- Damage or contamination of HO2S (UP)
- Visual check leak of catalyst and exhaust system of HO2S (Down)
Inspection Sensor
- Check installation of HO2S, connector connection, damaged wire and ECM.
- Check HO2S silicon contamination and check whether to dredge the sensor with white flour. Also, whether data is abnormal.
- Check HO2S contamination (Flowing in fuel, coolant or engine oil)
- Check intake air flow sensor contamination or poor performance, connection and wiring.
- Start engine and check that both throttle position sensor and pedal sensor data would be increased.
- Check ECM ground
Inspection of fuel line
- Check whether fuel filter is stuck or not
- Check fuel level
- Check whether there is a leak, low fuel pressure or for sticking
- Measure fuel pressure at idle after installing a fuel pressure measurement gauge
Specification: Fuel pressure 480 to 520 kPa (4.9 to 5.3 kgf/cm2 , 69.6 to 75.4 psi)
Inspection of injector
- Measure resistance of injector
Specification: Approx. 1.30 to 1.44Ω (20°C (68°F))
Good
- Check for engine coolant loss. If there is a large loss of coolant, check the condition of the engine block, cylinder head or cylinder head gasket for damage.
- Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Of Repair " procedure.
No Good
- Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Of Repair " procedure.
