System Inspection

Inspect for air leakage 

  1. Inspect the gasket for contamination or improper installation
    • Damage or improper installation of throttle body
    • Damage or improper installation of intake manifold and gasket which is installed in surge tank
    • Contamination or sticking of intake manifold
    • Contamination between surge tank and PCSV or stuck open
    • Damage or contamination of HO2S (UP)
    • Visual check leak of catalyst and exhaust system of HO2S (Down)

Inspection Sensor 

  1. Check installation of HO2S, connector connection, damaged wire and ECM.
  2. Check HO2S silicon contamination and check whether to dredge the sensor with white flour. Also, whether data is abnormal.
  3. Check HO2S contamination (Flowing in fuel, coolant or engine oil)
  4. Check intake air flow sensor contamination or poor performance, connection and wiring.
  5. Start engine and check that both throttle position sensor and pedal sensor data would be increased.
  6. Check ECM ground

Inspection of fuel line 

  1. Check whether fuel filter is stuck or not
  2. Check fuel level
  3. Check whether there is a leak, low fuel pressure or for sticking
  4. Measure fuel pressure at idle after installing a fuel pressure measurement gauge

    Specification:  Fuel pressure 480 to 520 kPa (4.9 to 5.3 kgf/cm2 , 69.6 to 75.4 psi)

Inspection of injector 

  1. Measure resistance of injector

    Specification:  Approx. 1.30 to 1.44Ω (20°C (68°F))
