Shift Cable: Installation: Installation

WARNING:
  • When working on the high voltage system, the work should be performed by technicians who have completed the relevant training. A lack of understanding of the high voltage system can lead to serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on the high voltage system or related components, be sure to observe and be aware of the "HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND CAUTION ". If not, it may cause serious accidents due to electric shock or short circuit.
  • When working on high voltage system, make sure to check the PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) and HIGH VOLTAGE SHUT-OFF PROCEDURES .
  1. Insert N range fixing pin (A) after checking shift lever and the manual control lever are in the N range before installation.

  2. Install the shift cable retainer (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    11.8 - 14.7 N.m (1.2 - 1.5 kgf.m, 8.7 - 10.8 lb.ft)

  3. Install the shift cable (A) to the shift lever.

    NOTE: Install the shift cable after checking the direction of tab (A) to prevent incorrect assembly.

  4. Insert the snap pin (A).

    NOTE: Mind the installation direction of snap pin and install the snap pin with the hook facing upward.

  5. Install the shift cable (A) to the bracket (B).

    NOTE: Replace the shift cable bracket clip (A) with a new one.

  6. Align the hole in the manual control lever with the N position hole of the position sensor and then insert the SST (09480 - A3800).

  7. Tighten the nut (A) to the specified torque after removing free play by pushing the shift cable in the direction of the arrow.

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 13.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.4 kgf.m, 7.2 - 10.1 lb.ft)

  8. Remove the SST (09480 - A3800).

  9. Remove the N range fixing pin (A).

  10. Install the air duct (A).

  11. Install the crash pad and heater blower unit assembly.

    (Refer to Heating, Ventilation And Air Conditioning -  "HEATER UNIT and CRASH PAD (PHEV) ")

  12. Install the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to Body -  "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")

  13. Install the hybrid power control unit (HPCU) assembly and tray.

    (Refer to Hybrid Control System -  "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ")

  14. Connect the high voltage circuit.
    1. Install the HPCU inverter power cable (A).

      Tightening torque: 

      9.8 - 10.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.1 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.0 lb.ft)

    2. Connect the high voltage service interlock connector (A).

    3. Install the engine room junction box cover (A).

    4. Install the auxiliary 12 V negative (-) battery terminal (A).

      Tightening torque: 

      7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  15. Refill the hybrid cooling system with coolant and then perform the air bleeding using the KDS.

    (Refer to Hybrid Motor Cooling System -  "REFILLING ")
