Inspection Procedure

Inspect whether to leak air or stuck

  1. Inspect a contamination, gasket and installation
    • Damaged or installation of throttle body
    • Damaged or installation of intake manifold and gasket which is installed in surge tank
    • Contamination and stuck in intake manifold
    • Contamination between surge tank and PCSV and stuck open
    • Damaged or contamination of HO2S (UP)
    • Visual check leak a catalyst and a exhaust system of HO2S (Down)

Inspection sensor

  1. Check a installation of HO2S, connector connection, damaged wire and ECM.
  2. Check a HO2S silicon contamination that check whether it is to dredge the sensor with white flour. Also, an data would be abnormal.
  3. Check a HO2S contamination (Flowing in fuel, coolant or engine oil)
  4. Check a intake air flow sensor contamination or poor performance, connection and wiring.
  5. Start a engine and check that both throttle position sensor and pedal sensor data would be increased.
  6. Check a ECM ground.

Inspection of fuel line

  1. Check whether a fuel filter would be stuck or not.
  2. Check a fuel level.
  3. Check whether leak a low pressure fuel or it is stuck.
  4. Measure a fuel pressure in idle after installing a fuel pressure measurement gauge.
    • Specification:  Fuel Pressure 480 to 520 kPa (4.9 to 5.3 kgf/cm2 , 69.6 to 75.4 psi)

Inspection of injector

  1. Measure a resistance injector.
    • Specification:  Approx. 1.30 to 1.44Ω (20°C (68°F))

    Good 

    • Check for engine coolant loss. If there is a large loss of coolant, check the condition of the engine block, cylinder head or cylinder head gasket for damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary and then, Go to "VERIFICATION OF REPAIR " procedure.
