| DTC Strategy |
- Determines if the oil temperature value is rational, compared to coolant and intake air temperature
|
|
| Case 1 |
Enable Condition |
- Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
- Difference between highest and lowest modeled oil temperature is greater than 30 to 100°C (86 to 212°F)
- Engine coolant temperature or modeled engine coolant temperature is greater than 90°C (194°F)
- Engine coolant temperature at engine start is lower than 53.25°C (127.85°F)
|
| Threshold Value |
- Difference between highest and lowest measured oil temperature is lower than 2 to 35°C (35.6 to 95°F)
- Sensor signal is stuck in range

| Diagnostic Time |
- 0 to 13 minutes (Depending on start temperature)

| Case 2 |
Enable Condition |
- Battery voltage is between 6V and 16V
- Engine coolant temperature at engine start is less than 40°C (104°F)
- Modeled oil temperature is greater than 70°C (158°F)
|
| Threshold Value |
- Engine oil temperature is lower than 20°C (68°F)
- Sensor signal is implausibly low
