Lucas 14CU System (3.9L V8)

For 1989 model year, EFI system has a Lucas 14CU electronic control unit. This is a development of 13CU used on 3.5 liter vehicles (1987-88). See appropriate THEORY & OPERATION article. In most respects 14CU works in same way using same engine components, it does however have additional capacity, enabling it to control fuel tank vapor purging and air conditioning.

The diagnostic equipment used for checking out 14CU system is same as that used for 13CU, with addition of 14CU Memory Card (Lucas 54746500).
