DETAIL

A number of security system components have been unnecessarily replaced in an attempt to repair the system when there is a complaint of an unusually long alarm arming light indication.

After a number of activations (about 3000 usages, approximately one year) the lamps will illuminate for one long continuous flash upon arming, instead of the usual 3 flashes. This continuous flash is an indication that the transmitter battery is low. When this type of symptom is present the battery should be replaced.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of the lamps flashing once upon arming or disarming of the security system, follow the procedure below.

STC961 Battery (Qty. 2)

NOTE: Batteries must be changed in pairs.

PROCEDURE

Follow owners manual procedure (Section 2 Anti-theft alarm).

NOTE: To assure a complete reset of the transmitters activation counter, after the battery is removed depress the system arm button 3-4 times to discharge the capacitor in the transmitters circuitry. Then reinstall the new battery. Repeat the procedure for the remaining remote.
