Unable to program Td5 Engine Management ECU

CAUSE

It has been identified that the incorrect Td5 Engine Management ECU (part number NNN500250) are being ordered and fitted to pre-03 model year, non cooled EGR (Exhaust Gas Re-circulation) vehicles.

ACTION

The correct superseded parts are listed below

These parts are used on Discovery II and Defender, fitted with a Manual transmission.

Original ECU's = MSB101183, MSB101184, MSB101330 and NNN000120

New ECU = NNN500020

These parts are used on Discovery II only, fitted with an Automatic transmission.

Original ECU's ECU = MSB101192, MSB101193, MSB101340 and NNN000130

New ECU = NNN500030

Part number NNN500250 can only be used on an European Discovery II, Manual transmission fitted with a non cooled EGR (Exhaust Gas Re-circulation), and therefore can only be fitted as a replacement ECU for another NNN500250.
