SITUATION
WIRING AND CONNECTOR INFORMATION FOR MULTI-FUNCTION UNIT
Information relating to the wiring and pin locations for the multi-function unit in Discovery vehicles is difficult to determine. In an effort to assist technicians in the pursuit of problems which may be related to multi-function units, a series of tables have been developed to assist in determining the root of the difficulty.
RESOLUTION
TESTING OF UNIT
Refer to the ETM for the model year in question for detailed wiring diagrams associated with the MFU. There is a specific "self- diagnostic" function performed by the MFU. Back-probing the MFU connector using the information supplied in the attachments to this TIB may be a useful method to help determine the operation of the various MFU functions.
