Brake Circuits

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Land Rover Range Rover and 1999 Land Rover Range Rover. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

There are 2 hydraulic brake circuits: the hydrostatic circuit (master cylinder pressure) and the power circuit (hydraulic pump pressure). See Figure . The hydrostatic circuit includes the front calipers, servo cylinders and the master cylinder. The front calipers are activated by hydraulic pressure from the servo cylinders compromising a combination of master cylinder pressure and direct hydraulic pressure. The power circuit includes the rear calipers, servo cylinder and the power valve. The rear calipers are activated by hydraulic pressure supplied directly from the power valve.
