Anti-Theft Systems: Description: Notes

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bags may deploy.
NOTE: Anti-theft system is incorporated into power door lock and keyless entry systems. For additional information, see POWER DOOR LOCK & KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS - RANGE ROVER article.
NOTE: If vehicle's battery has been disconnected ALL remote transmitters must be resynchronized to theft alarm unit. An individual transmitter must be resynchronized if batteries have been removed for longer than one minute.

Anti-theft system includes remote power door lock/unlock functions, anti-theft functions, and engine immobilization functions. Anti-theft components include theft alarm unit, 2-4 transmitters, Body Electrical Control Module (BECM), alarm hood switch (if equipped), inertia switch, horns, ultrasonic sensor and detector, and theft alarm LED.
