Disconnect the motor and check the voltage on the hall effect sensor line (Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams), if OK renew the retractable running board motor. If not check harness for short or open circuit and repair/renew as necessary. If OK renew the retractable running board module. Refer to the warranty policy and Procedures information if the module is suspect. |

Remove the ignition key, close the doors and wait 5 minutes for the vehicle to enter into sleep mode. Disconnect the retractable running board motor from vehicle harness and ensure the vehicle has remained in sleep mode. Measure the voltage between the hall effect sensor supply line and ground. If voltage is present repair/renew as necessary. If voltage is not present, check the retractable running board motor harness for short to power. If found repair/renew as necessary or renew the retractable running board motor. |

Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the CAN network between the Anti-Lock Brake System Control Module and Retractable Running Board Control Module. |
