SUNLOAD Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Jaguar XF, 2017 Jaguar XF, and 2016 Jaguar XF. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The sunload sensor is installed in the center of the instrument panel upper surface and is powered by a 5 V supply from the ATCM.
The sunload sensor consists of two photoelectric cells that provide the ATCM with inputs of light intensity. One as sensed coming from the left side of the vehicle and one as sensed coming from the right side. The inputs are a measure of the solar heating effect on vehicle occupants. These inputs are used by the ATCM, to adjust blower speed, temperature and air distribution to improve comfort.
