Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
  2. Remove the front wheel and tire.
  3. Remove the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to Fender Splash Shield .
  4. Release the wheel speed sensor lead from the brake hose retaining bracket.

  5. Vehicles with standard brakes 

  6. Release the brake caliper anchor plate from the wheel knuckle and tie the caliper aside.
    CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang on the brake hose.
    • Remove the 2 retaining bolts.

  7. Vehicles with high performance brakes 

  8. Release the brake caliper from the wheel knuckle.
    • Remove the 2 retaining bolts.
    • Tie the brake caliper aside.
    CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang on the brake hose.

  9. All vehicles 

  10. Release the wheel speed sensor from the wheel knuckle.
    • Remove the bolt.
      NOTE: The brake disc is shown removed for clarity.

  11. Remove the wheel speed sensor.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Release the wiring harness from the clips.
