Content This SSM only applies to dealerships within the following areas:
Shanghai,
Anhui,
Jiangsu,
Zhejiang.
ISSUE
- Misfire present within 2 minutes of starting the engine after the vehicles have been left unused for 8 hours or more.
- If the engine is warmed up to normal operating temperature then the vehicle is stopped and restarted, the misfire is no longer present.
- Faulty injector identified by following the diagnosis procedure outlined in LTB00678 (suspected injector is swapped to another cylinder and the misfire followed).
CAUSE
Under investigation. Engineering would like to gain further understanding into the causes of these fuel injector failures.
ACTION
On all occasions whereby a dealership in the areas listed above identifies an injector fault matching this criteria please complete the attached questionnaire and contact your local RTM, DTS and Product investigation.
