CONDITION SUMMARY
Situation: After installation of a towing accessory brake control module, the unit fails to power up and illuminate the display.
Cause: The wiring requirements of the accessory module may not be fully compatible with the vehicle trailer brake control module connector C3AT18.
Action: In the event of a customer concern of the above, follow the Service Instruction below to inspect the terminals in the connector housing C3AT18 to confirm they are in the location as detailed in the Service Instruction below. If not they may need to be re-wired to suit the application of the trailer accessory.

COMPONENT LOCATION
NOTE:
right-hand drive (RHD) shown; left-hand drive (LHD) similar.
SERVICE INSTRUCTION
CAUTION:
use the appropriate tool from the wiring harness repair kit when removing the terminals from the connector housing (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 418-02: Wiring Harnesses).
- Remove the left-hand lower dash trim.NOTE: RHD shown; LHD similar.
- Locate connector C3AT18.
- C3AT18
electrical connector housing.
- Remove the black (BK) wire from location 1 in the connector housing C3AT18
.
- Install the black (BK) wire into location 3 in the connector housing C3AT18
.
- Remove the blue (BU) wire from location 4 in the connector housing C3AT18
.
- Remove the green-red (GN-RD) wire from location 6 in the connector housing C3AT18
.
- Install the green-red (GN-RD) wire into location 4 in the connector housing C3AT18
.
- Install the blue (BU) wire into location 6 in the connector housing C3AT18
.
- Inspect the connector housing C3AT18
and make sure the wires are located:
- CAVITY 1 - empty
- CAVITY 2 - Brown (BN)
- CAVITY 3 - Black (BK)
- CAVITY 4 - Green-Red (GN-RD)
- CAVITY 5 - Violet-Brown (VT-BN)
- CAVITY 6 - Blue (BU)
- Install the left-hand lower dash trim.
- If possible, test and confirm the correct operation of the trailer brake functionality.
